Consign to Memory counters their Mishra's Bauble (a colorless spell) and can also counter triggered abilities such as Orcish Bowmasters' enter trigger, while Force of Negation adds free interaction on their turn against noncreature spells like Kaito, Thoughtseize, and Brainstorm without losing tempo. Barrowgoyf grows quickly in this attrition war, since its power counts card types in all graveyards, and it trades favorably against Nethergoyf or Moonshadow thanks to deathtouch and lifelink. Trim weaker cantrips and Snuff Out, which can't target their mostly black creatures, to make room, since both decks fight over the same resources and the player with more efficient interaction wins.
Ocelot Pride floods the board with small Cat tokens, so Toxic Deluge and Massacre are excellent sweepers that wipe their 1/1 and 2/1 tokens cheaply, with Massacre castable for free off a Swamp against their Plains. Sultai Aluren wants to resolve Show and Tell into Atraxa or combo off with Aluren, so Force of Negation is critical free interaction to stop these payoffs on their turn. Consign to Memory strips value from their Lotus Petals and any colorless permanents they rely on for acceleration. Barrowgoyf provides a sticky lifelink/deathtouch blocker that can survive their removal-light shell. Fatal Push whiffs on Atraxa and most of their top-end, and Daze is weak since they play few blue spells worth countering back, so both are cut for proactive free counters.
