Dimir Tempo is a disruptive tempo deck that combines Thoughtseize and Force of Will to break up your early game while applying pressure with Tamiyo, Nethergoyf, and Murktide Regent — all backed by Wasteland to strand your colorless mana sources. Chalice of the Void on one is your most important card: it blanks Brainstorm, Ponder, Fatal Push, Daze, and Orcish Bowmasters simultaneously, so protect it and lead with it when possible. Mindbreak Trap comes in as a free instant answer to Force of Will chains and storm-style counter wars, and Warping Wail covers Ponder and Thoughtseize as sorcery-speed disruption while also producing a blocker or mana. Dismember answers Murktide Regent and Nethergoyf cleanly without requiring colored mana. Simian Spirit Guide and It That Heralds the End come out as they provide minimal value in a grindy game where the opponent is generating card advantage through Brainstorm and Kaito.
Oops! All Spells is a pure combo deck that wins by milling itself with Balustrade Spy or Undercity Informer, triggering Narcomoeba, and looping Dread Return to reanimate Thassa's Oracle for an immediate win — it can go off as early as turn one with the right accelerants. Leyline of the Void is your best hate piece, shutting off Narcomoeba triggers and Bridge from Below while exiling the graveyard, which completely stops the combo. Mindbreak Trap can counter a flurry of spells for free if they cast three or more in a turn, which is trivially achievable on their kill turn; hold it up for the resolution of Balustrade Spy or Undercity Informer. Warping Wail can counter Undercity Informer (a sorcery) or Balustrade Spy isn't targeted, but it also stops their Dark Ritual chains from resolving key sorceries and can buy a crucial turn. Chalice of the Void on one is also excellent here, blanking Dark Ritual, Elvish Spirit Guide's pitch ability, Lotus Petal, and Thoughtseize, significantly hampering their ability to assemble the kill.
Sneak and Show is a combo deck that wins by cheating Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Atraxa, Grand Unifier into play via Show and Tell or Sneak Attack, so your primary goal is to deny them the window to resolve either enabler. Chalice of the Void on one shuts off Brainstorm, Ponder, and Lotus Petal — setting it early with Ancient Tomb or Eldrazi Temple is often your highest-impact turn-one play. Disruptor Flute naming Show and Tell or Sneak Attack locks out their primary combo lines and is your most important sideboard addition. Mindbreak Trap answers a string of fast spells through a Daze or Flusterstorm, serving as a free counterspell when they go off through disruption. Warping Wail counters Sneak Attack and Show and Tell as well, and the creatures you trim (Broadside Bombardiers, Reality Smasher, and some Kozilek's Commands) are the slowest or least impactful in a race where the opponent can win on turn one.
