Boros Energy is an aggressive midrange deck that pressures your life total quickly with Ocelot Pride, Ragavan, and Guide of Souls, while Blood Moon can strand you if you fetch poorly — though your landless manabase mostly dodges it. Post-board, Consign to Memory is excellent against their cheap threats and Goblin Bombardment, while Unable to Scream handles a problematic creature like Phlage. Suppression Ray is weak here since their threats are cheap and they go wide quickly, so trim those. Your game plan is to use your free countermagic to survive the early turns and land Charbelcher before they assemble too much board presence — don't be afraid to use Disrupting Shoal aggressively on their one-drops.
Jeskai Blink combines efficient disruption like Consign to Memory with recursive threats through Ephemerate on Solitude, Phelia, and Phlage. Their Consign to Memory directly answers your Charbelcher, so protecting your combo with countermagic is paramount. Bring in Mystical Dispute to fight their countermagic and Consign to Memory for their key creatures, while Commandeer can steal a critical spell. Trim the narrow removal like Suppression Ray and Into the Flood Maw — this matchup is about winning the counter war over your Charbelcher resolution. Patience is key; sometimes you need to bait out their interaction before going for the kill.
Affinity is a fast artifact-synergy deck that can deploy Kappa Cannoneer or Urza's Saga constructs quickly while Engineered Explosives can clean up your board. Hurkyl's Recall is devastating against them, bouncing their entire board and often buying you a full turn to combo. Consign to Memory handles key pieces like Mox Opal and Cannoneer, and Grafdigger's Cage shuts off Emry recursion. Trim Spell Snare and the narrow creature interaction — their threats are mostly artifacts, not spells you counter profitably with Snare. Focus on surviving to turn 3-4 with your free counters and Hurkyl's Recall as a panic button.
