In the mirror, both players are racing to establish Ragavan and energy-fueled threats, so the game often comes down to who can generate more card advantage and break through board stalls. Blood Moon is dead since both decks share the same mana base, and Thraben Charm and Voice of Victory are too low-impact in a race against an identical threat density. Celestial Purge is a clean two-mana answer to Ragavan, Goblin Bombardment, Phlage, and Seasoned Pyromancer — all high-value targets — without tempo loss. Wrath of the Skies breaks board stalls where both players have flooded the board with tokens and energy creatures, giving you a reset into your better late-game draws. The Legend of Roku provides sustained card advantage that can pull ahead in a grindy game where both players are trading resources; prioritize protecting it once it resolves.
Jeskai Blink's game plan revolves around Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd generating value through Ephemerate recursion, backed by Solitude's free removal and Teferi locking you off instant-speed plays. Celestial Purge cleanly answers both Phelia and Ragavan (both red or black), while Wear/Tear destroys their Arena of Glory and Elegant Parlor to cut off their mana advantage. Keep all three Goblin Bombardments — sacrificing in response to Solitude's evoke trigger is critical to not falling behind on board. Orim's Chant is most powerful cast on their upkeep before a key Phelia turn or to stop Consign to Memory when you're committing resources; use it proactively rather than reactively. Apply pressure early since Teferi, Time Raveler will progressively shut down your instant-speed interaction as the game extends.
Affinity is a fast artifact combo deck built around Urza's Saga fetching key pieces like Shadowspear and Pithing Needle while Weapons Manufacturing and Kappa Cannoneer close the game quickly. Wear/Tear is your best interactive card here, efficiently answering Mox Opal, Arcbound Ravager, and Urza's Saga itself. Obsidian Charmaw is a premium threat that doubles as land destruction, cleanly answering Urza's Saga before it can construct tokens or fetch artifacts. The main-deck Blood Moon is largely ineffective here since Affinity operates primarily on artifact mana and can function off their basic Island and Mountains, so it comes out. Surgical Extraction lets you exile Urza's Saga after destroying one copy or remove Kappa Cannoneer from the game to prevent topdecking into a brick wall.
