Boros Energy's sideboard includes Orim's Chant to disrupt your storm turn; by mirroring that with your own Orim's Chants, you can navigate the interaction war. Wear/Tear is your answer to their Goblin Bombardment which can kill you out of nowhere through a stalled board, and also hits their noncreature threats like Thraben Charm and sideboard artifacts. The matchup is fundamentally about whether you can land Ral, Monsoon Mage and resolve your storm turn before they attack enough times or disrupt you. Strike It Rich and Wish are the trimmable flex pieces — the Wish toolbox is less valuable when speed matters most, and Strike It Rich is slow mana that doesn't help you storm off quickly.
Jeskai Blink presents Teferi, Time Raveler (which sets your sorcery-speed spells back), Mystical Dispute from the sideboard, and Consign to Memory all threatening to counter your kill. Orim's Chant stops their key turns dead — especially preventing Ephemerate blink chains on Phelia or Teferi. Prismatic Ending answers Teferi, Time Raveler which otherwise makes your sorcery-speed rituals and cantrips unresolvable on their timing. Wear/Tear hits Arena of Glory and any sideboard enchantments. Artist's Talent and Valakut Awakening are slow card-draw engines that don't help your storm turn and come out to make room for interaction.
Affinity can present Metallic Rebuke to counter your key spells, and their fast clock with Kappa Cannoneer, Pinnacle Emissary, and Weapons Manufacturing tokens demands immediate answers. Brotherhood's End clears their entire token-based board and hits small artifact creatures that Affinity relies on for pressure. Prismatic Ending removes Pithing Needle (which can name Ral, Monsoon Mage) and other key permanents. Wear/Tear destroys Urza's Saga before it generates tokens or tutors up a hate piece from their sideboard. Artist's Talent and Valakut Awakening are too slow when Affinity can close as early as turn two or three.
