This is a race against a hyper-aggressive burn-combo deck, so we need to clean up their small creatures and gain time. Breath Weapon's instant-speed 2 damage to each non-Dragon creature kills Voldaren Epicure, Guttersnipe, and Sneaky Snacker, cutting off much of their damage engine before it compounds. Kessig Flamebreather is a 1/3 and survives it, so it needs another answer. Red Elemental Blast is narrow here: Sneaky Snacker is their only blue card, so it is the only legal target, but we keep a light package focused on Breath Weapon as the real answer. Crop Rotation and the slower card-advantage pieces come out since we need bodies and life gain on the board quickly rather than land tutoring. Pulse of Murasa's life gain is fine but we're trimming to make room for proactive defense.

Dimir Control grinds with counterspells and removal rather than graveyard synergies, so our graveyard hate has limited upside here—Faerie Macabre mainly comes in as a cheap flying blocker against Spellstutter Sprite and Ninja of the Deep Hours while incidentally exiling cards from Lorien Revealed's discards or a stray Gurmag Angler's delve fuel. Pulse of Murasa is a weaker fit against a deck without much graveyard recursion to punish and we'd rather have an extra disruptive flyer. Our mainboard engine of Tron lands, Expedition Map, and Ancient Stirrings should stay intact since consistently assembling Tron is still our best way to overload their counterspells. Keep in mind Snuff Out and Cast Down are their main removal, so sequencing bigger threats like Bramble Wurm after baiting out answers is key.

Affinity relies on its graveyard only a little, but Blood Fountain can return two creature cards from it, so Faerie Macabre and Nihil Spellbomb come in mainly to exile the graveyard in response to that. Faerie Macabre also gives us a 2/2 flying body that can block their fliers. This matchup is a race where they go wide with cheap fliers like Glint Hawk and Kor Skyfisher, so Pulse of Murasa's life gain is less valuable than board presence and we trim it along with Unfathomable Truths, which is too slow against their low curve. Giant's Boulder and Barrels of Blasting Jelly remain crucial since their activated abilities can pick off problematic creatures one at a time. Focus on assembling Tron to overwhelm their smaller threats with Bramble Wurm and Nyxborn Hydra.
