Boros Energy is an aggressive go-wide deck that leverages Ocelot Pride and Guide of Souls to flood the board with tokens while Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer and Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury apply early pressure. Pyroclasm is critical here as a sweeper against the token-heavy gameplan, wiping out Ocelot Pride tokens and Guide of Souls before they spiral out of control. Duress strips their disruptive tools like Blood Moon and Mana Tithe before they can strand your spells, while also taking Goblin Bombardment which can ruin your combat math. Molten Collapse handles key permanents like Ajani, Nacatl Pariah or a resolved Blood Moon. Monument to Endurance and Bloodghast come out as the slower recursive elements are less impactful in this race-oriented matchup where speed and board interaction matter most.
Jeskai Blink is a tempo-value deck built around Phelia and Ephemerate repeatedly blinking creatures like Ragavan and Phlage to accumulate card and board advantage while pressuring your life total. Duress comes in to strip Ephemerate and Consign to Memory before they can generate value, as countering your key threats or protecting their blink targets is their primary way to pull ahead. Molten Collapse and Shoot the Sheriff give you efficient answers to Ragavan and Phelia, preventing them from snowballing early value. Monument to Endurance and Winternight Stories are too slow against their proactive gameplan, and Iron-Shield Elf underperforms in a matchup defined by targeted removal and tempo plays rather than combat math.
Affinity builds around Urza's Saga constructing tokens, Weapons Manufacturing generating artifact creatures, and Kappa Cannoneer growing into a massive threat, so your priority is disrupting their artifact synergies before they snowball. Molten Collapse and Pyroclasm handle early artifact creatures and Saga construct tokens efficiently, clearing the board before Kappa Cannoneer can become insurmountable. Soul-Guide Lantern provides incidental graveyard hate against Emry, Lurker of the Loch recurring artifacts. Bloodghast and Bitter Triumph are trimmed because the recursive creature is slow against their fast artifact clock and single target removal is largely outclassed by the need for sweeper effects. Watch out for Engineered Explosives set to your most common mana value and Metallic Rebuke protecting their key threats.
