This is the mirror, so the deck with the better sequencing and more disruption for their engine pieces wins. Nature's Claim is excellent against their Vexing Bauble, Urza's Saga, and any artifact-based engine, while gaining them 4 life is a real but acceptable cost since games go long. Grafdigger's Cage disrupts nothing of theirs directly since neither deck relies on the graveyard to cheat creatures into play, so treat it as a low-priority swap only if you need another cheap answer. Since both decks race with Emrakul, the Promised End and Eldrazi Spawn tokens, prioritize keeping Kozilek's Command and Ancient Stirrings online, and use Haywire Mite to pick off their Vexing Bauble or Trinisphere from the sideboard. Their maindeck Vexing Bauble and Urza's Saga reward you for having extra artifact/enchantment answers ready.
Izzet Prowess is a fast aggro-tempo deck that wants to curve out with cheap threats and burn; our Eldrazi Spawn tokens and Blade of the Bloodchief give us growing blockers while we assemble Urza's Saga and Eldrazi Temple ramp. Whipflare comes in as a one-sided-ish sweeper against their swarm of small creatures with 1 or 2 base toughness like Dragon's Rage Channeler, Monastery Swiftspear, and Slickshot Show-Off, since our own creatures are mostly bigger. Grafdigger's Cage prevents them from casting Lava Dart via flashback, though it does not stop Cori-Steel Cutter tokens; consider it a low-impact swap. Note Pithing Needle already exists in our maindeck (1 copy) — a sideboard copy is not available, so keep the maindeck copy intact. Emrakul and our big Eldrazi threats are hard for them to interact with outside of Lightning Bolt on our small creatures, so keep the core game plan intact and prioritize surviving to turn 4-5.
Esper Blink is grindy with Solitude, Orcish Bowmasters, and Flickerwisp/Phelia value loops, so we want efficient removal and resilience rather than artifact hate, since they run few targets for Haywire Mite and few activated abilities worth naming with Pithing Needle. Unholy Heat is a great cheap answer to their small value creatures like Orcish Bowmasters and Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd, and delirium is easy for us to enable via Malevolent Rumble filling the graveyard with varied card types. Warping Wail pulls double duty here: it counters key sorceries like Thoughtseize and Prismatic Ending before they resolve, and its exile mode can pick off an Orcish Bowmasters. Watch for Thoughtseize taking your best threat and Solitude answering Emrakul, the Promised End for free via evoke, so diversify your threats across turns rather than over-committing to one big spell.
