Mono-Green Eldrazi ramps hard off Eldrazi Temple and Ugin's Labyrinth into Emrakul, the Promised End, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, and Ugin, Eye of the Storms, so slowing their mana is valuable. Damping Sphere taxes their Eldrazi Temple/multi-mana ramp lands, buying crucial turns, while Surgical Extraction can strip a copy of their top-end threats after one is milled via Malevolent Rumble or otherwise hits the graveyard. Practiced Offense and Marauding Mako are cut since they don't meaningfully interact with the opposing ramp plan and this matchup is about racing before they hit seven-plus mana. Keep the aggressive core intact and prioritize discarding into Hollow One/Vengevine as fast as possible.
Boros Energy leans heavily on Wrath of the Skies and Avengers Disassembled as sweepers plus a suite of removal and land destruction like Cleansing Wildfire and Erode, so answers to their permanents and a way to blunt their card advantage matter. Wear/Tear's Tear side can hit The Legend of Roku or another enchantment-based threat, and its Wear side is there for artifacts like a sideboarded Vexing Bauble; Deafening Silence limits them to one noncreature spell a turn, disrupting their removal-heavy, spell-dense plan while our threats are mostly creatures. Practiced Offense and Marauding Mako are too fragile against their removal suite (Path to Exile, Galvanic Discharge) to be worth the slots. Focus on rebuilding quickly after their sweepers since Wrath of the Skies and Avengers Disassembled will reset the board multiple times.
Affinity floods the board with cheap artifacts like Mox Opal, Mishra's Bauble, and Urza's Saga-generated Constructs, making a cheap sweeper extremely effective. Meltdown for X=0 or X=1 can wipe most of their mana rocks and small artifact creatures in one shot, while Wear/Tear's Wear side can pick off a key artifact like Mox Opal or an Engineered Explosives before it goes off. Practiced Offense and Marauding Mako do little against their go-wide artifact plan and get outclassed by Engineered Explosives, so they're cut. Prioritize casting Meltdown after they've committed several artifacts to maximize the blowout.
