This is a tempo mirror where their deck pressures you with Eddymurk Crab, Hearth Elemental, and Sunderflock backed by cheap interaction like Traumatic Critique and Spell Snare. Torpor Orb is your best sideboard card here, shutting off the ETB triggers that make their creatures powerful and forcing them to either answer it or play creatures that do nothing on entry. Slagstorm cleans up their board when they flood in small creatures, which is your primary way to stabilize against their aggressive starts. Broadside Barrage gives you additional instant-speed removal to contest their threats without tapping out on your turn, and the extra Spell Pierce helps you fight over key spells in the counter-war. Boomerang Basics and It'll Quench Ya! are too slow or conditional in a matchup decided by efficient interaction in the first few turns.

UR Aggro wants to establish early ramp creatures like Llanowar Elves and Outcaster Trailblazer and then power out threats like Temur Battlecrier and Michelangelo's Technique while racing you down, so your priority post-board is disrupting their creature synergies and sweeping their board before they can go over the top. Slagstorm is your best card in this matchup as a sorcery that cleans up their wide boards and punishes any stalled creature development. Torpor Orb shuts off enter-the-battlefield triggers like Outcaster Trailblazer, Formidable Speaker, and Marang River Regent, dramatically reducing their value and buying you time to stabilize. Annul answers Interdimensional Web Watch before it comes online, denying the card advantage that artifact provides. Monument to Endurance and Agna Qel'a come out because they are too slow and low-impact for a race where tempo decisions in the first four turns decide the game.

Jeskai Control wins by grinding you out with Tablet of Discovery, Stock Up, and Consult the Star Charts while holding up No More Lies, so your priority is resolving threats that generate value over multiple turns rather than trading spells one-for-one. Ral, Crackling Wit is your best threat here — he generates card advantage every turn and presents a closing threat that is difficult for them to answer cleanly through countermagic. Annul comes in specifically to answer Tablet of Discovery and any enchantment-based engines before they take over the game. Agna Qel'a is cut because it trades immediately with Lightning Helix and does nothing against Day of Judgment, while Boomerang Basics loses value against a deck that runs a heavy nonbasic manabase and can simply replay the bounced land. Keep your Spell Pierces — their full density is critical to protecting your key permanents like Artist's Talent and Monument to Endurance from their disruption suite.
