A second Wrath of the Skies sweeps away their wide board of Cats, Phelia, Skyclave Apparition, and other small creatures that Stoneforge Mystic and Recruiter of the Guard assemble. Containment Priest doesn't stop Recruiter of the Guard's tutor trigger or Skyclave Apparition's token creation, but it does blank creatures that would enter from the graveyard or off cascade-like effects; more importantly it stops any reanimation-style value from Pre-War Formalwear. Surgical Extraction can strip a key piece like Stoneforge Mystic or Solitude from their deck once discarded or otherwise put into a graveyard. Spell Pierce and Force of Negation are weak since their deck is mostly resilient creatures rather than must-counter noncreature spells, so they make way for more proactive answers.
