Doomsday wins by assembling a five-card library stack ending in Thassa's Oracle, protected by Force of Will and Daze, so Disruptor Flute naming Doomsday directly taxes their combo piece by three mana, slowing their ability to go off. Tormod's Crypt can disrupt a Street Wraith- or graveyard-adjacent line and gives us a cheap artifact for Urza's Saga synergy, though their core combo doesn't rely heavily on the graveyard. Defense Grid is weak here since Doomsday is typically cast on their own turn anyway, making the tax irrelevant, and Pithing Needle and Karakas have no meaningful targets against their nonlegendary, non-activated-ability combo shell. Race them with early Ancient Tomb-fueled pressure or lock pieces before they find enough mana to chain Dark Ritual into Doomsday.
