Maverick's Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis is cast from hand or the graveyard via delve/convoke, and the deck self-mills with Stitcher's Supplier and Dark Matter Manipulator, so Leyline of the Void (free from your opening hand) shuts off Hogaak's graveyard casting and starves delve/graveyard synergies before they start. Disruptor Flute can name Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis or Orcish Bowmasters to tax them out of relevance. Thoughtseize is weaker here since Maverick plays a low curve of efficient threats and protects its hand with Daze and Force of Will, so discard is often a low-impact draw against a deck that rebuilds easily; Witch Enchanter and Cloak and Dagger, Entwined are cut since Maverick has few artifacts/enchantments and little hand-disruption value worth prioritizing.
