Izzet Affinity goes under us fast with cheap artifacts and can lock us out with Chalice of the Void, so Force of Negation is valuable for exiling a Chalice of the Void or another noncreature spell like Thoughtcast before it resolves. It only hits noncreature spells, so their artifact creatures still need other answers. Dauthi Voidwalker is an evasive clock: with shadow, none of their creatures can block it, and they have few ways to interact with it. Fatal Push is weak against their artifact creature shells because it checks mana value, and Kappa Cannoneer (mana value 6, ward {4}) is out of its range even with revolt. Pinnacle Emissary tokens aren't worth the card either, so we trim it. Daze is risky to keep since Chalice of the Void set to 2 can blank it, so we lean into proactive threats and free countermagic instead.
