Maverick disrupts us with Thoughtseize while applying pressure with Wight of the Reliquary, Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis, and Orcish Bowmasters, so we want resilient blockers and cheap answers over narrow removal. Barrowgoyf's deathtouch and lifelink let it trade up against their bigger threats and stabilize our life total against their aggressive curve. Portable Hole answers an early Orcish Bowmasters, Wight of the Reliquary, or Scythecat Cub before it snowballs. Fatal Push stays in: Wight of the Reliquary, Orcish Bowmasters, Scythecat Cub, and most of their other creatures have mana value 2 or less, so it kills them without revolt. Only Hogaak is out of its range. Street Wraith's life loss is a real cost against this aggressive deck's clock, and Edge of Autumn and Consider are the weakest cards to give up to make room, since extra draws also feed Orcish Bowmasters triggers.
