Death and Taxes leans on Aether Vial to cheat creatures into play and on Wasteland to disrupt our nonbasic mana, so naming Aether Vial with Disruptor Flute shuts off its activations (only mana abilities are exempt) while taxing any copy they try to cast. Engineered Explosives set for two (it needs two different colors of mana spent on it) wipes their two-drops like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Phelia, Stoneforge Mystic, and White Orchid Phantom, though it also hits our own two-drops such as Thundertrap Trainer and Disruptor Flute. Dismember cheaply answers a resolved Stoneforge Mystic or Solitude. Sink into Stupor's bounce is weak against their cheap creatures and legendary threats like Phelia and Cloak and Dagger, which they can just replay, and Eldrazi Confluence is clunky against their efficient low-curve plan. Karakas can only return a legendary creature, so it won't touch our Karn, Ugin, or The One Ring; expect it to rescue their own legendary creatures from our removal instead.
