The EPIC Storm wants to chain Dark Ritual, Lion's Eye Diamond, and Mox Opal into a storm kill via Tendrils of Agony, and Chalice of the Void set at X=0 shuts off their 0-cost mana rocks (Lotus Petal, Chrome Mox, Mox Opal, Lion's Eye Diamond) completely. Engineered Explosives set at X=0 or X=1 can wipe their array of 0 and 1-cost artifacts after the fact if Chalice doesn't land in time. Disruptor Flute naming Burning Wish or Beseech the Mirror taxes their tutors by 3 mana, which is backbreaking against a deck operating on razor-thin mana margins. Tormod's Crypt and Pithing Needle don't address their core fast-mana combo plan, so they're cut for more proactive hate; Sink into Stupor's bounce mode is too slow since they rebuild mana instantly with rituals.
