The EPIC Storm is a combo deck that needs to resolve Tendrils of Agony or Song of Creation off a critical mass of rituals and Lion's Eye Diamond, so our discard package (Thoughtseize, Cabal Therapy, Unmask) is the core of this matchup — take Burning Wish, Lion's Eye Diamond, or their combo piece on sight. Surgical Extraction is excellent both offensively, exiling a key piece they discard to a cantrip or Gamble, and defensively against their sideboarded Thoughtseize plan. Chain of Smog doubles as discard and disruption to slow their draws. Cut the reactive, clunky cards since we need to be maximally disruptive and fast — ideally we're either Thoughtseizing them out of their combo turn or racing with a turn 1-2 Griselbrand before they assemble Doomsday-style density.
