UB is a disruptive tempo deck similar to Dimir Tempo, leaning on Thoughtseize, Fatal Push, Daze, and Force of Will to strip and counter our plan while Nethergoyf and Moonshadow apply pressure, so Surgical Extraction helps us fight through their removal on a discarded reanimation target and can exile cards from their own graveyard-fueled Nethergoyf. Chain of Smog strips two cards at once, ideally taking Force of Will and a removal spell before we commit Griselbrand or Atraxa. Trim the top-end legendary and situational cards since this matchup rewards a lean, fast plan — use Unmask and Thoggoseize proactively to clear Fatal Push or Snuff Out before reanimating, since losing a reanimated threat to a one-mana removal spell is our worst-case scenario.
