Lands relies on nonbasic lands like Dark Depths, Urza's Saga, and Thespian's Stage, plus Wasteland to deny our mana, so Engineered Explosives set at zero can wipe tokens or low-cost permanents like their Construct tokens from Urza's Saga. Mycosynth Lattice turns all their lands into artifacts, making them vulnerable to our Karn, the Great Creator's static ability shutting off activated abilities and letting our own artifact removal theoretically interact with their mana base, while also letting us spend any mana as any color to cast our spells more reliably if they're disrupting our colored sources. We trim Thundertrap Trainer and one Sink into Stupor since bounce and card selection don't address their resilient land-based engine; our own big artifact payoffs (The One Ring, Karn, Ugin) continue to out-grind their grindy plan.
