Izzet Affinity mirrors our artifact-synergy plan with Goblin Welder, Goblin Engineer, and Emry, Lurker of the Loch recurring key artifacts. Disruptor Flute naming one of their engine pieces like Goblin Welder or Emry shuts off its activated ability and taxes any copies they cast, though it does cost us two mana to deploy. Portable Hole can exile their cheap nonland permanents with mana value 2 or less, such as Goblin Welder, Goblin Engineer, or Mox Opal. It will not hit Emry, which has mana value 3. It needs white mana, which we can only find through sources like Lotus Petal, Planar Nexus, or Giant's Boulder, so it remains a speculative one-of given our colorless-leaning manabase. We trim Mishra's Research Desk and Mox Opal since both decks are racing on board development and we want to prioritize our higher-impact combo pieces. Keep our full Urza's Saga and Urza's Tower/Workshop suite since this mirror is largely about who assembles their engine first.
