Deafening Silence is devastating against The EPIC Storm, limiting them to one noncreature spell per turn and completely breaking their ability to chain Dark Ritual, Lotus Petal, Gamble, and Tendrils of Agony in a single turn. Surgical Extraction can strip a key combo piece like Tendrils of Agony, Beseech the Mirror, or Echo of Eons from their graveyard/hand/library once seen, crippling their redundancy. Amped Raptor is a fine creature that Deafening Silence does not restrict, but it is the slot we give up here because a 2/1 first striker does little to disrupt their combo compared to the disruption coming in. Static Prison is replaced since it doesn't stop their core artifact/ritual engine; prioritize landing Deafening Silence as early as possible, ideally before their first combo attempt.
