Izzet Affinity leans on Chalice of the Void at low X and on a pile of colorless artifacts like Mox Opal, Lotus Petal, the Baubles, and Pithing Needle, making Consign to Memory excellent. It costs only {U} (plus {1} per replicate), and it counters colorless spells, including Chalice of the Void itself, as well as triggered abilities such as Kappa Cannoneer's. Kappa Cannoneer is a blue spell, so Consign can't counter it on the stack, only its trigger. Veil of Summer is cut as a lower-impact card here, since its hexproof from blue and black does little against their mostly colorless interaction. Surgical Extraction can exile every copy of a card like Urza's Saga or Mishra's Bauble once one is in a graveyard, taking the rest from their hand and library, to slow their draws, though it's a lower-impact inclusion. The core plan remains resolving Omniscience or Show and Tell before Chalice of the Void or a post-board Damping Sphere can disrupt us, so protect that plan first with Force of Will.
