Lands relies heavily on repeatable value engines like Life from the Loam, Dark Depths/Thespian's Stage, and Urza's Saga, so Pithing Needle can shut off a key activated ability (Thespian's Stage or Dark Depths) and Disruptor Flute taxes a named card like Life from the Loam. Tormod's Crypt answers Life from the Loam recursion and other graveyard-based plans, including Icetill Explorer replaying lands from their graveyard, cheaply. We cut the slower cantrip artifacts and Metallic Rebuke to make room for these answers aimed at their engines. Prioritize racing with Ancient Tomb and Urza's Saga, but remember that Wasteland can destroy both since they are nonbasic lands, so it will contest our manabase.
