Death and Taxes with Yorion is a hatebears deck that applies prison pieces through Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (making your spells cost one more), Disruptor Flute (naming Reanimate or Animate Dead to shut off that half of your combo), and Karakas (bouncing Griselbrand or Atraxa before they can attack). The critical threat is Thalia on the play into Disruptor Flute, which can lock off your primary reanimation package entirely — stripping these with Thoughtseize and Unmask is essential before you try to go off. Stronghold Gambit is outstanding here because it puts creatures directly into play as a sorcery without casting them, entirely ignoring Thalia's tax and bypassing Disruptor Flute since the creature never hits the stack as a spell — and their entire creature suite has mana value three or less, making the reveal trivially winnable with Griselbrand or Atraxa. Hexing Squelcher shuts off Aether Vial, preventing them from vialing in Phelia or White Orchid Phantom at instant speed to disrupt your combo, and also locks off Stoneforge Mystic's tutor and equip abilities. Snuff Out answers Thalia before she taxes your spells, or removes Stoneforge Mystic before she finds Umezawa's Jitte, all without paying mana to dodge their disruption. Trim Archon of Cruelty as slowest, Raph and Mikey as least impactful, Cabal Therapy since hitting a disruptive creature deck with therapy requires good information, and some Animate Dead since Stronghold Gambit is your best combo route.
