Eldrazi floods the board with colorless threats like Thought-Knot Seer and Reality Smasher and plays Chalice of the Void at 0, 1, or 2 to counter our Lotus Petal, our Dark Ritual and Reanimate, or our Shallow Grave and Animate Dead respectively, so this matchup is about racing before Chalice locks us out. Snuff Out answers their biggest nonblack threats for life rather than mana, which matters when Chalice of the Void is already making our cheap spells awkward to cast. Ashen Rider swaps in for an Archon of Cruelty to give us a reanimation target that can exile Chalice of the Void or a problematic Eldrazi Temple-fueled threat when it enters, directly answering their key artifact. Cabal Therapy is weak here since their deck is light on relevant single hand targets and heavy on board presence, so we trim it for proactive removal and interaction.
