Null Rod is devastating against The EPIC Storm since it shuts off Lion's Eye Diamond, Chrome Mox, Mox Opal, and Lotus Petal's activated mana abilities, gutting their entire fast-mana engine (note it also turns off our own Chrome Mox, but that tradeoff is worth it here). Disruptor Flute can name Burning Wish or Beseech the Mirror to tax their tutors by {3}, meaningfully disrupting their ability to assemble the combo on curve. Simian Spirit Guide is cut because exiling it from hand for mana doesn't matter if we're not racing as hard — this is a matchup won by denying their combo pieces, not by being faster. Sundering Eruption's land destruction mode is irrelevant since they run few meaningful nonbasics worth blowing up.
