The EPIC Storm wants to chain rituals and cantrips into Tendrils of Agony, or reset the game with Echo of Eons and Runehorn Hellkite's graveyard ability. Faerie Macabre discards to exile up to two cards from graveyards, which lets you answer an Echo of Eons flashback or Runehorn Hellkite sitting in their graveyard. Defense Grid stays in the sideboard. It only taxes spells cast outside their controller's turn, so it does nothing to their storm turn and would instead make your own interaction on that turn more expensive. Veil of Summer is less valuable here because they have little targeted disruption or countermagic for you to play around, and the matchup is more about their graveyard plan, so the two Veils make room for the Faerie Macabres. Keep your full Force of Will suite active, since countering a key ritual or payoff spell on the turn they try to go off is still your best line of defense. Watch for their Veil of Summer and Hexing Squelcher, which can make their spells uncounterable, and time your counters accordingly.
