The EPIC Storm is a hyper-fast combo deck using Lion's Eye Diamond, Dark Ritual, and Burning Wish to chain into Tendrils of Agony or Song of Creation for a turn one or two kill, so free, proactive interaction is essential. Consign to Memory is a key sideboard card, exiling their own free counterspells or a discarded combo piece to slow down their explosive turns, while the extra Force of Negation lets you fight through their protection during the combo turn. Daze and Boomerang Basics are cut because they're too slow or don't meaningfully disrupt a deck racing to kill you before turn three, so maximizing hard counters and interaction is the priority.
