Goryo's Vengeance wants to reanimate Griselbrand or Atraxa, Grand Unifier via graveyard setup (Faithful Mending's discard, surveil lands, Thoughtseize-free discard effects like our own Burning Inquiry); Faerie Macabre lets us exile their key reanimation targets from the graveyard for free by discarding it, including in response to Goryo's Vengeance, shutting off their combo. Fire Magic's Fira mode can clean up their Psychic Frog or early blockers while we race, though it also damages our own small creatures, so time it carefully. Burning Inquiry is dangerous here since its random discards can put Griselbrand or Atraxa into their graveyard for them, and it doesn't help against their combo speed, so we trim it along with Street Wraith for more proactive graveyard disruption. Keep our fast clock since this matchup often comes down to who executes their plan first.
