Vexing Bauble is excellent since it shuts off Hollow One when cast for zero mana, while Vengevine's recursion from the graveyard and Street Wraith cycling are unaffected as they are not spells cast for zero mana. Abrupt Decay can't be countered and destroys target nonland permanents with mana value 3 or less, though it cannot target Hollow One (mana value 5) or Vengevine (mana value 4). Birds of Paradise and Walking Ballista die too easily to their aggressive curve and don't block Hollow One profitably, while Fatal Push whiffs on 5-mana value threats like Hollow One even with revolt, so we prioritize reliable interaction over fragile mana dorks.
