This matchup is a race between our fast Devoted Druid/Leyline mana engine and their Eldrazi Temple/Ugin's Labyrinth ramp into Emrakul and Devourer of Destiny. Abrupt Decay cleanly kills Basking Broodscale, Devourer of Destiny, or any artifact/enchantment hate piece they bring in at mana value 3 or less, all while dodging their lack of countermagic. Outland Liberator answers Urza's Saga or any artifact they stick, and Kraul Harpooner's combat relevance is minimal here but its body trades fine while digging into the graveyard count for later Shifting Woodland irrelevance. We trim the clunkier top-end and situational pieces that don't advance our clock against their grindy ramp plan.
