Izzet Prowess is an explosive tempo-combo deck that wins by triggering Dragon's Rage Channeler and Monastery Swiftspear with a chain of cheap spells, often dealing 10+ damage in a single turn. Orim's Chant is your most important card in this matchup — taxing a key attack or chanting on their turn during their combo-off shuts down their entire turn, and Isochron Scepter imprinting it would normally be devastating, but the Scepter is too slow on its own without setup. Solitude and Prismatic Ending provide clean early removal for their threat-creatures before they pump, and your Counterspells protect against Cori-Steel Cutter, which is their most threatening non-creature threat. Wrath of the Skies coming in handles scenarios where they stick multiple prowess creatures and you can't answer them one-for-one. Mystical Dispute taxes their blue spells (Preordain, Expressive Iteration, Slickshot) and counters their sideboard Spell Pierces and Consign to Memory.
