4c HollowOne wants to dump its hand via Burning Inquiry and Faithless Looting to cheat out Vengevine, Hollow One, and Detective's Phoenix for almost no mana, then go wide fast, so Wrath of the Skies is a strong sweeper reset once they've overextended. Damping Sphere taxes their explosive multi-spell discard-and-cast turns, since each additional spell that turn costs them more, slowing the whole plan down. Note Rest in Peace is tempting because it prevents Vengevine and Detective's Phoenix from entering the graveyard, but since Hollow One is cast from hand, it's left in the board here in favor of the sweeper plan. Cut slow lands for the higher-impact interaction.
