Esper Control is a mirror-like grind full of Supreme Verdict, Counterspell, and its own Teferi and Narset, so Mystical Dispute is at its best, countering their blue spells for one mana. Spell Snare cleanly answers their Isochron Scepter, Counterspell, and Spell Snare, while Damping Sphere slows down Consult the Star Charts and their Colonnade-heavy manabase indirectly by taxing fetches less relevantly but still disrupts any incidental artifact mana. Spell Pierce is redundant with better counters already in, Sink into Stupor is too slow against a deck holding up its own answers, and Aang trades poorly into Supreme Verdict, so all three are cut. Sequence Teferi, Time Raveler to strip their countermagic and play around Supreme Verdict by not overextending.
