Goryo's Vengeance aims to reanimate Atraxa or Griselbrand as early as turn two via Goryo's Vengeance or Persist, generating overwhelming card and life advantage in a single activation. Rest in Peace is your silver bullet — resolving it before they get a combo kill shuts off all graveyard-based recursion entirely, so mulligan aggressively for it or an early Path to Exile to exile their threats permanently. Celestial Purge answers a resolved Psychic Frog, which also pitches to Force of Negation to protect their combo. Vexing Bauble taxes their combo turns, forcing them to spend extra mana that can put them off-tempo for Goryo's Vengeance into discard triggers. Wraths are largely dead here since their threats are singular large creatures rather than swarms; Cleansing Wildfire offers minimal disruption in a game decided by the stack and graveyard.
