Gruul Basking Broodscale Combo uses Urza's Saga to find Blade of the Bloodchief and assemble an infinite counters loop with Basking Broodscale and Glaring Fleshraker, draining you out or creating an arbitrarily large Walking Ballista. Path to Exile and Galvanic Discharge are your primary disruption tools — killing Basking Broodscale or Glaring Fleshraker before the loop assembles is essential. Kataki, War's Wage taxes their Urza's Saga constructs and the artifact-based combo pieces like Blade of the Bloodchief, significantly slowing their assembly. Rest in Peace hedges against Persist effects and any graveyard-based recovery, while Vexing Bauble taxes the cheap spells that enable their combo chain. Mana Tithe is weak because they have heavy redundancy through Ancient Stirrings and Malevolent Rumble, and Soul Partition is too slow relative to their combo speed.
