Jeskai Energy is a tempo-midrange deck packed with blue spells like Consign to Memory, Quantum Riddler, and Teferi, Time Raveler, making Mystical Dispute cheap and efficient as a counter throughout the game. Toxic Deluge can reset the board against blink enablers like Phelia, Exuberant Shepherd and Casey Jones, Vigilante style value creatures, and their own Wrath of the Skies in the main deck means we want to be proactive rather than overly reliant on one-for-one removal. Sheoldred's Edict is weak against their varied nontoken threats and lack of go-wide tokens, so it and a slow Quantum Riddler make room for more countermagic tuned to this blue mirror-like matchup.
