Ruby Storm wants to chain Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, and Past in Flames into a lethal Grapeshot, so speed and disruption matter far more than our normal grindy plan. Consign to Memory's replicate lets us counter multiple colorless spells or triggered abilities in one turn, though it won't stop their colored rituals or Grapeshot itself, so timing on key colorless pieces matters. Extirpate with split second is our best tool, stripping Past in Flames or Grapeshot from hand, graveyard, and library before they can respond, effectively neutering their combo turn. Exhibition Tidecaller and Surgical Extraction are too slow and low-impact against a combo deck racing to kill us, so they come out, along with Crypt Incursion which has no relevant targets.
