Mardu Energy aims to flood the board with tokens via Ocelot Pride and Guide of Souls, then convert them into lethal damage through Goblin Bombardment before your large creatures can take over. Wrath of the Skies is your reset button when they overextend, punishing any board where they've stacked counters and tokens. Wear // Tear hits Goblin Bombardment and Chthonian Nightmare, both of which let them generate value or damage out of creatures that would otherwise be irrelevant in combat against Territorial Kavu and Scion of Draco. Stubborn Denial comes out because Mardu plays very few high-value spells worth countering and ferocious is inconsistent in a race, and Teferi contributes little against a deck that isn't leaning on instants or interactions with the stack. Focus on trading in combat early to shrink their board, then deploy a sweeper or a protected Scion of Draco to close before their redundant sacrifice outlets can bridge the gap.
