Esper GenericBlink is a value-oriented midrange deck that generates card advantage by flickering creatures like Phelia, Emperor of Bones, and Overlord of the Balemurk with Ephemerate and Flickerwisp. Torpor Orb is excellent here as it shuts off the enters-the-battlefield triggers on Solitude, Overlord of the Balemurk, Phelia, and Emperor of Bones, effectively blanking most of their value generation. Soulless Jailer further locks down their Ephemerate loops by preventing creatures from re-entering the battlefield from exile zones. Vexing Bauble taxes Thoughtseize and their cheap interaction, protecting your ramp pieces from disruption. Lightning Bolt and Kozilek's Return are cut as they're too narrow against a deck of 3-4 toughness threats that generates value through ETB rather than combat; your late game of Emrakul is effectively unbeatable if you can survive to cast it with the opponent's value engine neutralized.
