Grixis Reanimator uses Faithless Looting, Thought Scour, and Thoughtseize to fill the graveyard rapidly, then deploys Archon of Cruelty or Abhorrent Oculus via Persist or Unearth for game-ending value at a massive discount. Endurance at flash speed is the clean answer — cracking it in response to Persist or Unearth exiles their reanimation target and refills your library, and its body is a significant blocker against their graveyard threats. Surgical Extraction on Archon of Cruelty after it's been milled or countered removes all four copies and eliminates most of their closing power. Emrakul the Promised End is your best proactive threat: their Thoughtseize and Looting fills yards on both sides, dropping Emrakul's cost quickly, and stealing their turn lets you use Persist or Unearth on your own creatures. Slumbering Trudge is too slow against their tempo disruption (Fatal Push, Thoughtseize) to be worth the mainboard slot here.
