Boros Control attacks on two axes — mana denial through Cleansing Wildfire and Demolition Field, and post-board graveyard lockout via Rest in Peace, which must be answered immediately or the game ends. Mystical Dispute comes in as a hard counter for their key threats; stopping a Wrath of the Skies or Rest in Peace is worth the full three mana against a non-blue opponent. Vexing Bauble taxes Solitude to keep our reanimation targets on the board longer, while Pyroclasm efficiently clears White Orchid Phantom before it accelerates their land destruction by fetching basics. Fatal Push is largely dead here since their primary threats are non-creature spells and sweepers rather than small creatures, and Spell Pierce loses most of its value in the later turns where this matchup is decided. Thoughtseize is our most powerful tool — use it to strip Rest in Peace proactively, then sculpt a reanimation turn ending on Archon of Cruelty, which generates immediate card and life advantage even if they follow with a sweeper.
