Esper Control is full of blue spells, so the sideboard plan is cheap, efficient interaction. Mystical Dispute costs {U} against a blue spell, and Teferi, Narset, Jace, Day's Undoing, Supreme Verdict, Consult the Star Charts, Sink into Stupor and their own counterspells are all blue (or blue-white). That makes it very efficient. Consign to Memory is narrower: it only counters a triggered ability or a colorless spell. Its best targets are Solitude's enter-the-battlefield exile trigger, which also works when Solitude is evoked, and Isochron Scepter. Their surveil lands' triggers are also legal targets but low value. It can't hit Supreme Verdict, Day's Undoing, counterspells or planeswalker loyalty abilities, since the spells are colored and loyalty abilities are activated, not triggered. Thought Scour and Quantum Riddler are cut as slow value cards. Keep Thoughtseize to proactively take Solitude, Teferi, a sweeper or a Chant/Silence before they can use it. Fatal Push has few targets in this matchup, since Solitude is mana value 5. Be mindful that Teferi limits us to casting spells at sorcery speed, which turns off our instant-speed Dispute and Consign, and Narset limits us to one draw each turn. Sequence Thoughtseize before they resolve a lock piece.
