This matchup is a race against their blink value engine: Phelia and Ephemerate generate card advantage quickly, and Solitude can exile our combo pieces for free, so the priority is assembling Basking Broodscale plus Blade of the Bloodchief before they grind us out. Dismember is the key addition, efficiently answering Phelia before she generates value, as well as Guide of Souls and Quantum Riddler. Nature's Claim comes in mainly to answer Deafening Silence out of their sideboard, which would completely lock our combo turns by taxing each spell we cast. Thief of Existence enters as a threat that also exiles a key permanent—ideally Teferi, Time Raveler or Ocelot Pride—disrupting their engine while advancing our board. Soul-Guide Lantern, Haywire Mite, Springleaf Drum, and one copy each of Vexing Bauble, Emrakul, and Devourer of Destiny come out as the least impactful pieces against this creature-and-tempo-based opposition.
