Gruul Basking Broodscale relies heavily on Eldrazi Temple, Boseiju, Grove of the Burnwillows, and basic Forests for a two-color-light manabase, making Blood Moon extremely punishing and often locking them out of casting Kozilek's Command or fully activating Urza's Saga. Damping Sphere further slows their Ancient Stirrings into Urza's Saga starts and taxes Basking Broodscale's ramp synergies. Metallic Rebuke is a weaker answer since they run relatively few cheap artifacts to discount it against, so it's trimmed for more proactive hate. Land Blood Moon as early as possible and race with Cori-Steel Cutter and Tamiyo before they assemble Basking Broodscale plus Blade of the Bloodchief for a fast kill.
