Living End wants to cycle its creatures away and cascade into the sorcery Living End to reanimate its whole graveyard at once, so graveyard disruption is premium. Surgical Extraction can strip a copy of Living End itself from hand/library after seeing one resolve or discarded, reducing their redundancy. Grafdigger's Cage does not actually stop Living End, since the sorcery exiles creature cards from the graveyard and puts them onto the battlefield from exile rather than from the graveyard directly, so it does not interact with their game plan and is left in the sideboard. Consign to Memory is a strong tempo answer here: it can counter the cascade trigger on Shardless Agent or Violent Outburst regardless of whether the spell itself is colored, and it can also counter Living End itself, since Living End has no mana cost and is therefore a colorless spell. That includes the copy cascaded into or cast off suspend, so we bring in two copies. Ephemerate does little in this matchup and Prismatic Ending is too slow against a deck that can go off before we stabilize, so both come out.
