Esper Control leans on Wrath of the Skies, Supreme Verdict, and a heavy planeswalker suite (Narset, Parter of Veils; Teferi, Time Raveler) to grind out the game. Ashiok, Dream Render disrupts their fetchland-based mana development and mills toward exiling their graveyard, denying any recursive value they might otherwise pick up. Damping Sphere taxes their double-spell turns and slows their land ramp into Wrath of the Skies mana sinks. Inquisition of Kozilek can still strip Teferi, Time Raveler or catch a cheap Wrath of the Skies before it lands, but it whiffs on their bigger sweepers like Supreme Verdict and on Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, so trim it for these disruptive permanents; keep Thoughtseize at full count since its uncapped mana value lets it take anything in their hand.
