Izzet Prowess floods the board with cheap 1-2 toughness threats like Monastery Swiftspear, Dragon's Rage Channeler, and Slickshot Show-Off, so The Meathook Massacre is a sweeper that affects all creatures while gaining you life for each opposing creature that dies. Requiting Hex and Sheoldred's Edict are cheap, efficient answers to their small creatures that dodge having to tap out into Lightning Bolt or Lava Dart. Sorin of House Markov and Beseech the Queen are too slow against a deck that wants to kill you before turn 5, and the extra Graveyard Trespasser isn't as impactful since this matchup isn't graveyard-dependent. Prioritize Fatal Push and Fell the Profane to answer their early threats before Cori-Steel Cutter or prowess triggers snowball out of control.
