This is a grindy matchup full of graveyard synergy (Stitcher's Supplier, Nethergoyf, Detective's Phoenix's bestow-from-graveyard), so Surgical Extraction is excellent at stripping a key Nethergoyf or Flare of Malice out of their yard and hand entirely. Wasteland Strangler gives extra removal that also shrinks their small creatures like Stitcher's Supplier or a shrunk Nethergoyf. Pithing Needle has few great targets here since their engine is mostly ETB/graveyard based rather than repeatable activated abilities, and Shadowspear is a lower priority since we're not racing through combat damage. Keep the removal suite and discard package intact since Thoughtseize and Fatal Push are premium against their proactive low-curve plan.
